Explicitly setting the controlsource on each column does allow the data to be displayed.
Just to fuel thinkings,
1- did you subclass your columns?
2- did you check .RecordSource contents?
3- Are .controlSource OK?

I adapted a form and now the text is no longer visible in a grid. If functions normally otherwise.
