Error : 501 Emailadddress '>' missing at end of address

501 myaddress '>' missing at end of address
Cant replicate this on my own machine, but when I deploy to client it appears and wont send an email
I generate the HTML stuff in the Body of the email, and looks well formed and get no errors on my machine
Have removed all / \ < and > prior to creating the page but still getting the error on clients site
Any idead of what it might be
