I currently have an asp.net (2.0) gridview with hyperlinks to files on a local server (UNC Path), and it has been working great for years.
The problem started when my company was bought and the users were moved to the new domain,
they can no longer click on the hyperlink and open the file (if they do, the browser does nothing).
Instead, they need to right click, select "save target as" to download the file, and it's kind of annoying.
Additional data:
- End users are @ newserver.com
- web server (IIS 6) and file server are @ oldserver.com
- all hyperlinks were updated to something like this: \\srvname.oldserver.com\file1.doc
Any idea of how to fix this so the links can work again with a single left click?
