Yeah it looks nice and is pretty fast, and allows sending files of any size...

Pretty happy with it - there are a few things that it doesn't have like cancelling and stop/restart. The other thing that's not so cool is that although it's open source they are using such a convoluted build process it's next to impossible to duplicate locally for me. And they don't even ship non-minimified JS distributions. IOW, it's not trivial to make changes to the base components which is a bummer.

I did make some - so that it returns error messages from the server, but even that's non-trivial and breaks the update chaing :-(

Overall though there's not much to complain about especially when comparing to plain HTML based uploads...

Dang! This thing is sweet!

The other nice thing is that the client apps will resize the image files before uploading when using Silverlight and Flash and possibly the HTML5 modes if you choose that option.

Great Addition to Web Connect. With digital cameras with higher sizes, my old routine is failing do to size factors.

FWIW, I've adapted the plUpload ASP.NET code to a Web Connection handler and have added that functionality to Web Connection now.

The FoxPro sample is now online here:
http://west-wind.com/wconnect/webcontrols/plUploadSample.htm

and the documentation can be found here:
wcdocs:_3qj1500yc.htm

I've attached the plUploadHandler implementation, so you can try this out yourself if you like. I'd love to get some feedback.

You can follow the instructions in the How plUploadHandler works topic:
wcdocs:_3qj1bpfln.htm

which should have everything you need.

Hi,

Is there a way to upload files from the client to the WC server, without the 16 MB string limit? I have to upload files, but will frequently have files larger than 16 MBs.

Thanks,

David
