I've heard of this happening from time to time, but I've not been able to replicate this particular problem.
The issues is that in order to build Word output the MSWORD theme must be in use as it contains the necessary Word template. This is supposed to be automatic, but it sounds like something went wrong in your case.
If you have any more information on your exact steps that might be helpful... Let me know...

Tried building MSWord help documentation and it displayed a recommendation that I use the "MSWORD" Template Scheme for generating outpupt for MS Word. It said, "This scheme includes a required HelpBuilder Template.doc file that contains support functions and a base template for importing you Help content.
If this is not the correct template, please click "No" and choose Tools|Select Template Scheme from the menu."
So - I chose "No" and I received a pop-up window that was looking at "EARTH" Scheme. I clicked the Cancel button. After doing this, my entire Help project is now displaying a Help Builder Scripting Error and I don't know how to recover and create my Word Output. Any suggestions?
