That's because .NET 3.5 is installed on your system. .NET 3.5 uses the 2.0 version of the runtime so that's the configuration you want to work with...

UPDATE: Found the solution to this problem.

I am trying to install an ASP.NET application (designed for .NET 2.0) on Server 2008 R2. I have installed it before on all prior versions (Server 2003, Server 2008 R1). But something has changed in this version. My saved instructions indicate that I need to enable the following features:
Web Management Tools
World Wide Web Services

But I can't find them here.

When I am on the Server 2008 R2 and the window Initial Configuration Tasks, under the Customize This Server, I click on Add features, I see only .NET Framework 3.5.1 Feature. There is a description that says that “Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 combines the power of the .NET Framework 2.0 APIs with the new technologies…. So this part is already different because it has no reference to .NET Framework 2.0 but rather 3.5.1

Any suggestions, please, where to start configuring the services on Server 2008 R2?

TIA.
