Thanks Stein,

I've opted down the road you've sugessted. The overall reason ... was the speed ... as you pointed out.

Thanks

I've also used the virtual XP when working with some legacy apps (originally ported from Foxpro 2.6, so you know they go back a ways). It works, but it takes a while to load XP and it adds another layer of overhead - I'd sure prefer NOT to depend on it for my daily development environment.

Wouldn't it be a better use of your time to just wade through the documentation and figure out how to do what you need with the new IIS manager? I agree it's a PITA to work with but I can eventually get it to do what I want if I dig deep enough. If you deploy to a 2008 server you'll end up having to deal with it anyway, since they use the same interface.

Thanks Bob...

Yes it is. I have to support code on a few legacy XP machines and successfully use VMWare Player on my Win7 system. Load XP, VFP and have at it.

Info found here.

I am running on windows 7 and am very frustrated with the iis interface. Is it possible to load a virtrual machine, load XP OS and foxpro and wconnect and develop software?

Thanks in advance.

Roy
